About Dain

I break things on purpose so they don’t break on accident.

By day, I work in higher education IT which mostly means convincing large Windows environments, and users, to behave like responsible adults. Endpoint management, automation, and keeping systems (and myself) calm under pressure is the job.

By choice, I ride long distances on a road bike. I collect fountain pens, drink good coffee, occasionally plug in a guitar, and take photos of things I probably didn’t need to stop for. In another life I had a wild and crazy radio career beginning in San Diego and ending up as program director for KRQR, Chico.

I like systems that make sense. Or making sense of systems. I like problems that require thinking sideways. I try to leave things, technical or otherwise, better than I found them.

Things I Can Do

  • Microsoft Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr / SCCM) & Intune Administrator
  • Ride bikes far enough to question my life choices
  • Chug Coffee & Espresso like it was my job
  • Occasionally make loud guitar noises
  • Semi-retired radio yapper
  • Collect music and music stats like some people do sports
  • Nerd out on stationery and all things about analog living
  • Help and serve others, always

I'm still here after 47 years, so, I got that going for me, which is nice.
